Yes, I have "The Power Broker" on my list! Totally similar vibes. San Francisco didn't have that powerful singular figure exactly like Robert Moses but there was a small group of powerful people who did push things through that maybe weren't in the best interest of the city. Then the citizens came to their senses in the 50s & 60s and started opposing everything, haha.
I'm reading The Power Broker at the moment, and the Ferry Building book sounds like it's along similar lines. I'd love to check it out!
